What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy helps people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.
How do we achieve this?
At Skye and Lochalsh Phystiotherapy we aim to do this by
1. treating the cause as well as the symptoms of the problem
2. working with the individual to achieve their goals
3. advising the individual on how to prevent recurrence
How does it work?
Physiotherapy involves the detailed analysis of an injury or symptom, correcting problems that may have caused it, as well as treating the resulting damaged tissues
What will treatment involve?
Following a careful history taking and assessment of your condition, your physiotherapist will use a selection of modalities which may include manual (hands on) treatment techniques, manipulation and mobilisation of tissues and joints, biomechanical correction, exercise and movement pattern retraining, advice, electrotherapy, soft tissue massage and correctional taping.
The treatment is individual to your specific needs - you are unique and so is your treatment plan!
